2012 is already shaping up to be a huge year for house music! Already some mega album releases, epic track drops, and huge lineups announced.
One of the biggest announcements for January has to be the Coachella line up. It has always been an amazing festival with a mix of rock, hip-hop and electronic music, but the Indio, California-based festival sparked even more excitement this year with the announcement of its electro heavy lineup. Even with the festival having a second weekend for the first time, tickets sold out in less than three hours!
Some of the major must-sees at Coachella are without question: Swedish House Mafia, Kaskade, Afrojack, Avicii, Calvin Harris, Sebastian Ingrosso and David Guetta. But there are many others that are sure to put on an epic show. If you haven’t done so already, make sure you check out our “5 Artists You Must See at Coachella” to get a preview of what to expect.
We had some big albums drop in January, one of which was Steve Aoki’s “Wonderland.” The album features collaborations with artists like Lil Jon, LMFAO, NERVO, Kid Cudi and Travis Barker, just to name a few. One of our favorite tracks off the album was “Ladi Dadi” (featuring Wynter Gordon).
Another huge release was the highly anticipated album “Bangarang” from Skrillex… and he did NOT disappoint! Teaming up with Kill The Noise, 12thPlanet, Wolfgang Gartner, and even The Doors, Skrills put out a very solid quiver of bangers. “Right In” was the first track that grabbed our attention and had us going ape-shit.
We celebrated Tiesto’s birthday this month, as well as the release of his YouTube series “In The Booth,” which gives fans a behind the scenes look at the life of Tiesto. In honor of all this excitement, we put together our choices for the “Best Of Tiesto.”
As if we didn’t already have enough of an excuse to go to Vegas, Deadmau5 announced signing residencies at both XS and Encore Beach night clubs! Exact dates are expected to be released soon.
