LA just got a little bit hotter with last Thursday’s opening of Sunset Entertainment Group’s newest club Lure. The grand opening was an exclusive event which treated the beautiful people lucky enough to muscle their way in to stiltwalkers, strong drinks, and a DJ set by Wolfgang Gartner.
The club, located in the heart of Hollywood, is 18,000 square feet of meticulously designed perfection with every detail given full attention. Outdoor lovers are treated to an abstract garden with over-sized cabanas, beautifully ornate flower scultpures, and an open view of the night sky.
The inside is just as impressive with the most noticeable thing being 110 kinetic light spheres that move in choreographed synchronicity to the music being played.
These days it isn’t enough for a club to just be pretty, SEG has understood this, pushed the envelope and created a true extrasensory experience. The 50,000 watt sound system, hi-definition LED walls, and bottle service girls dangling from plexiglass orbs will have the people talking and running to get a peek for themselves.
Be assured this sound system is intense, if you ever wanted to experience bass that has the potential to blow your clothes off and actually take your breathe away this is it.
This would’ve been an impressive night all on its own, but this opening went above and beyond the call of duty by enlisting super DJ Wolfgang Gartner to play for the festivities. Gartner played a solid two hour set in which he played every track that you could have possibly wanted him to play. He played the oldies and the goodies and the dance floor absolutely erupted with energy for the full two hours.
Gartner’s set was absolute proof of his understanding of all things music and exactly what the club wants. His tracks ranged from the brand new, “We Own the Night,” his collaboration with Tiesto, “Redline” and his remix of “Paddling Out,” to fan favorites like “Illmerica,” “The Champ,” and “Wolfgang’s Fifth.”
Not content to just play his own music he dropped some LMFAO, “Show Me Love” by Swedish House Mafia, and the crowd went bananas when he dropped a sample of Notorious B.I.G.‘s “Hypnotize.” Gartner‘s energy was infectious and the crowd raged with unbridled enthusiasm from start to finish.
Clubgoers, as well as DJs, will be clamoring to get in to experience everything this club has to offer. If opening night is any indicator of what we can expect from Lure, with its beautiful design, care to detail, banging music, and gorgeous crowd, the future looks brighter than their LED walls.
