In the spirit of Valentine’s Day and all things house music, we decided to help you out with at least one thing on your V-Day to-do list…your V-Day playlist.
Setting the tone for your evening with a loved one, a volatile ex, or even just yourself is very important and can mean the difference between V-day perfection and epic V-day fail.
Below are a variety of tunes for a variety of possibilities for your V-day celebrations. Choose your 2012 Cupid theme song wisely!
#10 “In The Air” – Morgan Page, Sultan + Ned Shephard, and BT Feat. Angela McCluskey
This song is audio sex, there I said it. Angela McCluskey’s voice is breathy and sexy and the lyrics are romantic without being cheesy. If you want to get some lovin, this is the song to be playing.
This is also undeniably a “girl” song, so instead of going to see the latest chick-flick based on a girl losing her memory for the hundredth time, do yourself a favor and take a long romantic drive and use this as your soundtrack. It will probably achieve the same result and you will definitely like the song better than the movie.
#9 “Beautiful People” – Benny Benassi Feat. Chris Brown
I know, I know, it’s beyond ridiculous to have a track featuring “2009 Boyfriend of the Year” Chris Brown on a list of Valentine’s Day tracks, but let’s just pretend it isn’t him singing and enjoy this great track.
The lyrics are sweet and the track is on point with Benny Benassi providing solid producing.
#8 “Satisfaction” – Benny Benassi
If this video doesn’t get you in the Valentine’s Day spirit, you better check your pulse. Don’t beat around the bush this year! Belt this song loud and proud and get your point across! “Push me and then just touch me, til I can get my satisfaction!”
#7 “Heartbreaker” – MSTRKRFT Feat. John Legend
This is the epitome of a sensitive man song. John Legend is the epitome of a sensitive man. If you want to weep beautiful soft tears with your favorite lady lying in your arms, this would be the song to do it to.
MSTRKRFT tones down their electro-heaviness in this track and what you are left with is a sad, sad man singing an even sadder song about the woman that left him wondering “why?” (Tear)
#6 “I Remember” – Deadmau5 & Kaskade
If you are yearning for lost love this Valentine’s Day, then check out this offering from two of EDM’s heaviest hitters.
This track is beautiful and kind of sad, so if your V-Day is looking like its consisting of a bottle of vino and a box of drugstore discount chocolates, then maybe Kaskade and deadmau5 can keep you company. I can think of worse ways to spend the day.
